WOW!

Look at the way the Union County Community Arts Council enriches your child’s life…

The Union County Community Arts Council Arts in the Schools programs and services will serve a total of 54 schools in Union County in 2010-11.  Students in al Union County elementary, middle and high schools receive cultural arts programs that enhance North Carolina curriculum guidelines and serve students by promoting character and moral development, creative thinking, fluency and provide tools and strategies that help contribute to a lifetime of interpersonal skills.

Students all across Union County will directly benefit from the Union County Community Arts Council’s arts focus.  With the endorsement of the Union County School Board, Superintendent, administrators and teachers, the Council will again enrich and deepen the cultural education of your child this school year.

Data supporting the benefits of arts education is documented in the NC Arts “The Art in North Carolina” publication.  Students who participate in educational arts activities are:

•    Four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement
•    Four times more likely to participate in math and science fairs
•    Three times more often elected to class offices within their schools
•    Three times more likely to win an award for school attendance
