Melanie Miller has almost 25 years in the non-profit sector in the greater Charlotte area. Prior to joining UCCAC, Melanie was the Executive Director of The Arc of Union/Cabarrus, the Director of Program Services at the Alzheimer’s Association-Western Carolina Chapter, and spent many years with Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council, working in all aspects of nonprofit management, programming, special events, volunteer cultivation, and resource development.

Melanie’s love for the arts goes back to her first piano lesson at age 6 and learning how to play Christmas carols on her grandmother’s vintage electric organ. Originally from Spartanburg, SC, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication. While there, she also studied percussion under Matt Savage and Lynn Glassock and performed in a variety of ensembles, including performances at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
